Hey everyone! I thought I would post a few photos that I shot quickly at my baby shower - it was really beautiful and lots of the details might be useful as wedding decor. My mom threw it for me and I was lucky enough to have lots of family and friends present. Since it was during wedding season, it was not a surprise (because my schedule is so crazy!) and I love decorating for parties and DIY, so I actually helped with a few of the details :).
My mom and I took a ton of inspiration from the internet - sites like Hostess with the Mostess and Style Me Pretty are great party planning resources for all different types of events. I'll try to link some of the sources of items as I go along as well.
The colors were primarily green and white with different shades of pink thrown in - instead of regular centerpieces, we recycled bottles and cans as vases. It turned out so cute - my mom purchased all the flowers the day before (mostly at Trader Joe's, Stew Leonard's and a local farm market) and arranged them the day of the party. I had covered the bottles and cans with different scrapbooking papers and ribbons the week before and she organized them in multiples per table. It turned out a bit shabby chic and a bit garden-looking - it was perfect and the guests took them home at the end.

The tables were also decorated with pink napkins (from the venue), a funny quiz and small guest favors. I made a small thank you note for the top and my mom filled the boxes with candy.

My mom also created a gorgeous dessert table! She ordered three cakes from a local bakery and used my collection of cake plates (yes, I love all types of kitchenware, including cake plates!) to display the cakes. We also thrifted a few more plates and glass candlesticks to create a few more cake plates (glue a candlestick to the bottom of a large plate = new cakestand!). My mother-in-law, my mom and her friend and my aunt also made additional baked goodies to display on the table. She added a few lanterns and some other items to really make it look amazing.

A few other cute touches....a baby clothesline created by my mother-in-law, a banner created by me :), and I just had to post a photo of this adorable gift wrapping (gift from my mom)! Tim and I also created a photo guestbook (very similar to those that I create for weddings) that was a huge hit - we used photos of us from when we were kids, current photos and sonogram photos. If anyone is interested in seeing some close-ups of the book, just leave a comment below.
The shower was so great - thanks to everyone that helped out, especially my mom for going to great lengths to make the day perfect :) and for all the extremely generous and beautiful gifts (including a number of handmade knitted items!). I hope these photos and sources help with some wedding decoration ideas!!
