I have been meaning to post these photos for a  little while now, and then today I realized that it was Nadia & Tom's 2-year wedding anniversary.  What could be a more perfect day to post photos of their new little baby girl?  Nadia was gorgeous and glowing when I shot her maternity session, and I'm sure their little girl will grow up to be just like mom :).  These guys are some of my favorites and I was so happy to photograph them again.  Happy sunny Monday everyone!  (and ps. if you are wondering, yes, mommy and baby are wearing the same flower headband!)

Perfect for a Friday post.  Gorgeous little Emma and her gorgeous mama.  And Rich too! We can't forget him!  Such a perfect little family.  I've taken so many photos of these two, but these photos were my most favorite of all -  you can see their engagement, the wedding, and now their little family.  Hope you guys are enjoying her and getting a (tiny) bit of sleep!

Happy Friday everyone!  Anything good planned for the weekend?  I have a fun wedding to shoot on Sunday, can't wait to show you guys :)

I decided that today is the perfect day to post these photos because well, who doesn't love a friday?) - Meet my friend Kristen!  Kristen and her husband have an adorable little boy that is friends with Sophie and they recently had another little baby boy (so exciting!).  I love shooting maternity photos and was happy to shoot a few maternity photos of Kristen (she looked amazing and these were taken the day before her due date!!) and of course, I was excited to take a few photos of the new little guy.  Poor Kristen watched both Sophie and her older son while I took these (trying to keep three children under 2 quiet and happy [and out of trouble] is definitely more difficult than you might think!!), but I'm so happy that I did.  She just texted me a photo of him yesterday (I took these maybe three weeks or so ago) and he looks so different already.  It makes me so happy to capture these moments.

Portrait: Kendra + 1

Happy Friday everyone! Today's post is one that I absolutely love. Some of my favorite shoots have been maternity sessions - so amazing to capture a time that goes so quickly (although it doesn't feel quick when you are in it!). I look back at my own photos all the time. Kendra was such a great sport - even in the cold (pretty much the only chilly day lately) - and really, there is not much more to say, I think the photos speak for themselves :). I'm in love with so many of these - doesn't she look amazing!? Love the combination of indoor and outdoor spaces - thanks for trusting me guys! So excited for the baby session to come!

Monday Updates

I thought I would start a new weekly series on the blog - Monday Updates - what do you think? I think I need a better name - any suggestions? I read a lot of blogs that have weekly posts on Fridays, but Friday is already awesome, maybe we need something for the worst day of the week? I love to catch up on my blog reading on Monday and I'm always getting my weekly plans together, reviewing photos from the week before, etc., so -- a post about the week before, the upcoming week and everything else in between. Sound ok?

So, for this Monday...last week was a big week. St. Patrick's Day is a big deal in itself around here - you have to realize that this is a seriously important holiday in the O'Connell household (yes, the name O'Connell = serious St. Paddy's day celebrations). Check out Sophie in this photo with her cousins - she would not smile, she refused. Flat out. Too funny.


But then...My brother-in-law (Tim's bro) also got engaged!!! So, so, so exciting. Here's a shot of the ring that I grabbed yesterday...


The weather was also incredible and I'm lining up a lot of shoots for the next few weeks. Wedding season starts for me in April this year and kicks into high gear very quickly!

A good friend of mine just had a baby this week, and I happened to grab a few shots of her last week - the day before her due date(!). I think she looks absolutely amazing. I shot another awesome maternity session last week and will be doing a full post of those photos probably tomorrow!


And...check out this gorgeous portrait of Gina + Franco that I'm dropping off for Danielle @ Every Little Detail Wedding & Event Planning. She just opened a new shop for her wedding planning business and this will be on display. I love these wrap prints - they sort of an updated version of a canvas gallery wrap. Both are really pretty, but I like how this gives some depth away from the wall - really cool. Although I'm pretty sure Gina and Franco would look awesome in any type of print :). Danielle did a great job at their wedding and I'm really excited to see how she has set up the shop.

Portrait: Sophia + 1

I love love doing maternity sessions, there is something amazing about the anticipation and excitement about the arrival of a new little one :). I was especially excited to see Sophia and her super cute baby bump! Sophia was the maid of honor in a wedding I shot in 2009. I was unable to shoot her wedding last year, so I was super excited to shoot this session and catch up. We had a nice, relaxing time walking through Prospect Park with her husband Spencer (love that park!). April is such an iffy month weather-wise, but if you hit it, you really hit it! The grass was green, trees starting to bloom, and beautiful sun. Thanks for a great afternoon guys and I can't wait to hear the news!
