Monday Updates!

Hey everyone!  How are you?  I missed you guys last week.  Today, I thought I would do a 'what-we-are-up-to' post - I'm feeling a little insane, the holidays do that to you, or, at least to me :), and the last few weeks have been busy busy, so I'm going to download my mind into this post right now, if thats ok.  I'm pretty sure that is the longest sentence ever written on this blog.

Tim's birthday was yesterday!  I planned a fun-filled weekend that included me singing Crazy by Aerosmith here, and yes, the song sounded as awful as you might think.  All for the birthday boy! I made him a red velvet cake that was amazing (using this recipe!), but didn't take many good pics (ps. I love to cook and bake, if you are interested, you can see some more baked goods here).  We were too busy devouring it, it was perfect.  I did make Tim a homemade birthday card by printing out this...:), I just couldn't find anything appropriate at Hallmark!

We chopped down a tree! Did you know that Tim was a lumberjack in his former life?  Did you know that a female lumberjack is a lumberjane?  Urban Dictionary really is up on their stuff.

I have edited over 100K photos in the last few days!!!  Insanity.  The holidays are always like that over here - more to do, trying to square everyone away before the new year.  Whew. 


And, lots of albums are rolling through too!  I have a full post coming soon on that (post-holidays), but I love these.

Monday Updates (a little late...)!

Hey everyone!  Sorry for the late Monday update today, but it was the best I could do - and I'm definitely in the camp of better late, than never, right?  You can see the reason for my tardiness above :).  Tim and I are feverish working on our new website, and with that, some blog updates!  Yes.  The new header is the first and that actually still being tweaked, but I thought I would put it up and get the new look underway.  I really want the blog to be more like a working notebook, so I plan on changing the header photos often  A new header was LONG overdue, I know. 

We also switched to FB timeline this week.  Did you like that header?  I like the header and look of the page a lot, not positive if I like how the posts come up yet.  Sort of complicated.  If you are not already, follow us here!


We were featured on Style Me Pretty this morning too, which is always fun.  Stay tuned for a lot of features by different websites/blog/vendors in the coming months - we shoot so many awesome weddings, definitely want other people to see them!

Tim and I went out with some of our friends on Saturday night - I won't give too many details, but I think these two photos say more than I ever could. 


I have been working on a new album design guide and a bunch of new products - check out some of these new album cover materials!  So cool.  I keep meaning to do a post on albums, but something else always comes up.  Promise to post some album photos soon - so many gorgeous ones have gone out to clients!

Uplift Products: Albums

Ah, the weekend :). Warm weather, no rain or snow in the forecast. Sounds perfect. Anyone doing anything fun?

Anyways, we offer a ton of different and fun products, and most of you guys get to see the majority of them when we meet up to talk weddings :), but, with all that is going on and by the time the wedding is over, it is hard to remember what you liked! Plus, for couples looking for a wedding photographer, it is great to see as many albums and products as possible so you can try to decide what you might like. So, I'm going to kick off a blog series to show off some of our awesome product offerings, starting with some of the many albums we have created in the last few months. I'm also thinking of posting a full album soon, so you can get a feel for the flow and page design too.

I love designing albums - it is really fun for me to put the photos together in a way tells the story of the day. I take your favorites and usually a few of my own as well that help fill in all the details and the results are always drool-worthy. Our albums are both modern and traditional at the same time. I design all albums with a certain modern aesthetic in mind - a cleanly-designed layout with lots of negative space to really show off the images, but albums are also 'traditional' in the sense that I stay away from anything overly trendy and use only the best printers and materials. Then you won't have to worry about your album being outdated :).
